Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
- Day: 1 Arrival in Siliguri – Transfer to Darjeeling
On arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (68km)/Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (62km)/Bagdogra Airport (69km), you would be greeted by our tour representatives and assisted to Darjeeling, a charming hill station situated at an elevation of 7100 ft above sea level. The profound serenity, lush tea gardens, breathtaking scenes, bustling streets, Buddhist monasteries and arresting views are the major attractions of Darjeeling. You can enjoy Darjeeling Himalayan Railway or toy train here. On arrival, you check into the hotel and relax. Spend the evening at leisure and take a stroll to the local shopping markets or the Mall. Enjoy a tight sleep at the hotel.
- Day: 2 Darjeeling Sightseeing
Start the journey early dawn to Tiger Hill (11km) to experience magnificent sunrise over Kanchenjunga peak. The route amid oak forests is enchanting. Sunrise illuminates the peak and it appears like an orange-colored ball which is really treating to the eyes. Explore the ancient gompas of Darjeeling, Ghoom Monastery, also known as Yiga Choeling Monastery on your way back. Its construction started in 1850. Here, the sculpture of Maitreya Buddha is the main attraction. War Memorial is another prime attraction enveloped by Batasia Loop and resting on the well-maintained garden. It was constructed in the memory of Gorkha martyrs. Enjoy the toy train ride here. Come back to the hotel for a yummy breakfast and set off for exploring Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Ropeway, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Gumpo Rock, Tea estate, Tibetan Refugee self-help center, natural history museum and Peace Pagoda. Later pay a visit to Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, world’s popular site that holds conservation breeding programs of Snow Leopards, Tibetan Wolf, etc. Opt for the cable car ride to enjoy magnificent sights of Rangeet Valley. Peace Pagoda is a white dome-like structure with golden-colored Buddha sculptures. Relax and grab a good sleep at the hotel.
- Day: 3 A Day’s Trip to Mirik ( 58km – 1hr 30 min )
In the morning after breakfast set for a day’s trip to Mirik. At a height of 1494 m above sea level, Mirik has scenic spots like Sumendu Lake, verdant tea plantations, cardamom groves, landscaped gardens and the Himalayas. Engage in activities here like horse riding and boating in Sumendu Lake. Come back to Darjeeling in the evening and stopover at Pashupati Market collect souvenirs. In the evening, visit Mall Road or local markets and come back to the hotel. Take rest at the hotel.
- Day: 4 Darjeeling / Kalimpong (49km – 1hr40min) + Sightseeing tour
After an appetizing breakfast, do check-out procedures and set off for Kalimpong. The lush destination rests at the foothills of the mighty Himalayas and perched at a height of 1250m above sea level. The bustling town of Kalimpong offers striking scenes of Himalayan peaks and peaceful ambiance. It boasts of Buddhist monasteries and colonial-architectures. After reaching, complete formalities and check into the hotel. Set out for sightseeing at popular tourist sites like Deolo Hill, Forest Museum, Dr. Graham Homes, Hanuman Mandir, Mangal Dham (stunning serene temple complex with temples of Guru Mangal Das and Lord Krishna), Durpin Monastery and Pine View Nurseries. Durpin Gompa (formally referred to as Zangtok Pelri Phodang), situated on Durpin Hill (1372m), is the largest monastery of Kalimpong. Explore interesting religious frescos inside and enjoy Kanchenjunga views from its terrace. Dr. Grahams, a Scottish missionary started by Dr. J A Graham in 1900, is an orphanage and school that co-educated tea-estate workers’ children. Deolo Hill pleases you with enchanting scenes of Kanchenjunga. It also had a park and offer pony rides for kids.
- Day: 5: Kalimpong – Gangtok ( 73.5 km – 2 hrs )
Enjoy morning breakfast and drive to Gangtok which is the capital of Sikkim. The tranquil and beautiful Gangtok is situated at a height of 1600m above sea level. This hill town offers prime attractions like Buddhist monasteries, pleasant climate and abundant lust greenery. Enjoy a romantic and passionate honeymoon and adore amazing scenery of Gangtok that houses vibrant flowers like Rhododendron and Orchids and variety of butterflies. After reaching, complete check-in procedures at the hotel and take good rest. Spend the evening at leisure and explore MG Road Mall and enjoy shopping memoirs like handicrafts, Thangka paintings, woolen clothes, etc. Come back and grab a tight sleep at the hotel.
- Day: 6 Gangtok City Tour
As soon as you complete your morning breakfast, you will be lead to the grand places of Gangtok. The popular tourist destinations are Handicrafts & Handloom, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Research Institute of Tibetology, White Hall, Enchey Monastery, Flower Show, Ganesh Tok- a temple, Hanuman Tok, Banjhakri Falls, Tashi View Point and some other magnificent spots. Hanuman Tok, the Lord Hanuman temple, is located on high altitude is a splendid photographic spot. The golden shaded dome of the biggest stupa of Sikkim, Do Drul Chorten, holds a fascinating architecture. You can also roam around the Enchey Monastery, one of the most popular Gompas of Gangtok. You can glimpse breathtaking views from the monastery at Mt. Kanchenjunga. The flower exhibition center, which stays open for the entire year is another beautiful spot to visit in Gangtok. You can explore the site and take some superb snaps of the wide assortment of floras. Visiting the discotheques close to your hotel can be an astonishing option on the seventh day. Return back and get some good sleep at the hotel.
- Day: 7 A day trip to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir
The seventh day of the trip starts with visiting the alluring sites in Gangtok after morning food. The prime attraction of this place is Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir. Tsomgo Lake, commonly known as Changu Lake, located 37Km from Gangtok is a glacial lake at an elevation of 12,400 feet. The snow-covered oval-shaped lake is the habitat of migratory birds. Yak ride is quite famous there. Take a look into the Lord Shiva temple on the bank of the lake. 20 Km from the Lake there is Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial War temple, which is memorial built in the recollection of soldier Harbhajan Singh. Take a walk at Mall road in the evening after you return to Gangtok.
- Day: 8 Gangtok to Siliguri for Departure – Siliguri / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand / Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station
On the last day, you will be transferred to Siliguri or New Jalpaiguri railway station or Bagdogra airport or Tenzing Norgay bus stop for your return journey.
